Etched in Black was founded by Anthia Lott in 2012.  

 

At the age of 21, she took a risk and moved to London, England to study fashion design.  With little to no knowledge, and to never have touched a sewing machine in her life, she quickly adapted and flourished in her classes.

 

Even though she found her love of fashion a little later in life, she was able to obtain internships with top designers and even assisted at both London and Paris Fashion Week.  

 

Certain life events returned her home to Rochester, NY, cutting short her pursuit to work her way up in the fashion industry short.  But, her undeterred love for fashion just wouldn't let go, so she decided start her own line: Etched In Black

 

Etched In Black, simply put, is her creative voice:  

 

"I want to make clothing that has a built-in personality with a little edge.  We, as women, tend to give dialogue to our clothing:  We just don't buy a dress, we buy something that makes us look sexy, a lil risky, but not too slutty.  And it's that kind of moment I want you to have when wearing my pieces."
